Senator Ossoff: “Mike Collins ran away from a press conference because he was asked some important and straightforward questions … Congressman Collins is not going to get away with refusing to answer these questions.”
Atlanta, Ga. — Today, GOP U.S. Senate nominee Mike Collins abruptly ended a press conference after being pressed multiple times by multiple reporters about his refusal to answer basic questions about his ties to white nationalism.

In response to Collins running away from reporters, Senator Jon Ossoff addressed members of the media, challenging his Republican opponent Mike Collins to answer new questions, including whether Collins plans to “release every email, every text message, every Signal message, and every other communication between his office and his staff and these notorious white supremacists” and if the congressman will “apologize for his office’s documented links to some of the nation’s most notorious white supremacists.”

“We saw, this morning, the sad spectacle of a crumbling man named Congressman Mike Collins refusing to answer basic questions about his ties to white nationalism and neo-Nazi ideology,” said Senator Jon Ossoff. “The question that Georgians need answers to is, has a sitting member of Congress who represents Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives been paying a neo-Nazi? Will he release every communication between his office and some of the nation’s most notorious white supremacists? And will he apologize for his widely documented ties to white nationalist and neo-Nazi ideology? These are not allegations. These are confirmed reports.”
These new questions from the Senator follow the recent and sudden replacement of Collins’ top aide, Kip Talley, who was revealed to have worked with white nationalists, including Nick Fuentes, to try to get a Holocaust denier out of jail. Talley originally replaced top aide Brandon Phillips, who mocked a rape victim on Collins’ official account – all while in the midst of an ongoing federal investigation into the illegal misuse of tax dollars.
Mike Collins’ meltdown also comes as he continues to be under intense scrutiny for propping up neo-Nazi propagandist David Alan Scheer, whose close ties to the congressman include being “featured in campaign photos, registered to vote at a Collins-owned property” and “appearing at his victory party.” CNN also revealed that Collins is refusing to say whether he ever paid the neo-Nazi propagandist either personally, or through his business, his campaign, or his office.
Collins also faces a slew of additional scandals, including outrage over his antisemitic harassment of a Jewish reporter and praise for a young man who harassed a Black woman by making monkey sounds.
