Thursday, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jon Ossoff’s campaign released a new radio ad featuring former President Barack Obama urging Georgians to vote for Ossoff instead of David Perdue. The ad will run as part of Ossoff’s statewide radio campaign over the final two weeks of the election.

“Jon has dedicated his career to fighting injustice,” says Obama. “I know he’s got what it takes to stand up to corruption in Washington and protect health care for families in Georgia.”

Obama touts Ossoff’s record fighting corruption and praises Ossoff’s commitments to ensure every Georgian has affordable, accessible health care and protect coverage for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions in the face of ongoing GOP efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“Jon’s wife, Alisha, is an OBGYN doctor,” says Obama, highlighting Dr. Alisha Kramer’s work as a physician at Emory University. “Alisha knows if her patients lose their insurance, they won’t be able to afford their care. So Jon will defend the protections for pre-existing conditions I fought so hard for.”

Currently, Ossoff leads Republican 51-45 in the latest poll conducted by Quinnipiac. In recent days, the Ossoff campaign released data from internal polling suggesting they have a clear path to victory.  While Mitch McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund has spent more against Jon than any other Democratic challenger in the country, Jon’s strong and substantive message, popularity, and historic fundraising have allowed our campaign to withstand a barrage of GOP attacks that could have threatened another candidate.
