President Obama: “Georgia, you have the power. And now it’s time to vote.”

Atlanta, Ga. — Today, investigative journalist and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Jon Ossoff released a new digital ad, “Georgia,” featuring President Barack Obama urging voters to make history once again by casting their ballots for Ossoff. The ad is set to award-winning artist John Legend’s cover of Ray Charles’ “Georgia On My Mind.”

In the ad, President Obama speaks frankly about the difficult year Georgians have faced, but remarks they rose to the occasion in November to reject fear and division to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. President Obama tells Georgians that their work is not yet finished, saying “Now, America is counting on you again.”

President Obama lays out the stakes of the January 5 runoff election and discusses Jon Ossoff’s fight for Health, Jobs, and Justice, saying “You can send Jon Ossoff to the Senate to beat this virus and rebuild our economy, to make sure everybody can afford health care, to carry the torch John Lewis passed to us with a new Voting Rights Act that secures equal justice for all.”

The ad closes with President Obama emphasizing the power Georgians have when they vote.

President Obama, who endorsed Ossoff earlier this year, also recently joined Ossoff for a joint virtual get-out-the-vote rally with fellow Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Reverend Raphael Warnock. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have also campaigned for Ossoff and Warnock during the runoff election.

“Now, America is counting on you again.

“You can send Jon Ossoff to the Senate to beat this virus and rebuild our economy, to make sure everybody can afford health care, to carry the torch John Lewis passed to us with a new Voting Rights Act that secures equal justice for all.
