Continued room to grow for Ossoff: Garin-Hart-Yang poll finds Ossoff with a double-digit lead among voters who know both candidates
As his record is being exposed, Perdue’s approval rating is now underwater among Georgia voters
Atlanta, Ga. — A new internal poll from Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jon Ossoff’s campaign finds the investigative journalist has expanded his lead over Senator David Perdue (R-Ga.) despite massive spending by outside dark-money GOP groups, with Ossoff leading the first-term Senator 48-46 percent.
Among respondents who know both candidates, Ossoff enjoys a 13-point lead, 55-42 percent, proving once again as Ossoff’s message continues to reach voters across the Peach State and his lead is likely to grow.

Despite coming under heavy attack in recent weeks from out-of-state GOP dark money groups with misleading and false attacks, Ossoff’s approval rating actually increased, while Perdue’s favorability is now underwater.
Renowned pollster Fred Yang writes in the memo that “While it’s Jon Ossoff who has borne the brunt of negative attacks, the challenger still enjoys a net positive image while ironically it is Senator Perdue whose image has worsened. Ossoff’s “feeling thermometer” score among Georgia voters is 33% positive and 26% negative, while Perdue’s image is underwater at 33% positive and 37% negative, whereas in the July poll Perdue maintained a positive profile with the electorate.”
In a statement, Ossoff campaign manager Ellen Foster notes Ossoff’s continuing grassroots momentum in the race with under three months to go.
“With under three months to go, Jon’s momentum continues to rapidly build, and he is well positioned to unseat Senator Perdue in November,” Foster said. “While Senator Perdue was happy to send billions to his corporate donors, he continues to oppose stimulus checks for Georgia families, led the fight to cut unemployment insurance, and is currently taking summer vacation on a private island while Georgia families are crying out for help.
“David Perdue only serves his interests and those of his donors, and Georgians across the Peach State are ready to demand change at the ballot box in November.”
Today’s new poll tracks with the last three public polls of the race by CBS News/YouGov, 11Alive Atlanta/Survey USA, and MoveOn/Public Policy Polling, all of which found Ossoff and Perdue either tied or locked in a dead heat and within the margin-of-error.
Ossoff is also building momentum with grassroots donors, raising $2.9 million in July with 96 percent of donations under $200 — bringing in roughly the same amount of money in one month that Perdue brought in the entire second quarter between April and June.
And in July, 28,000 new grassroots supporters donated to Ossoff for the first time, demonstrating his growing appeal and expanding support.
