Atlanta, Ga. — Following this evening’s Atlanta Press Club/Georgia Public Broadcasting debate, investigative journalist and Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jon Ossoff issued a new challenge to Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), who failed to show up for the debate and has failed to deliver much-needed additional relief for Georgians who are suffering.
While taking questions from reporters after the debate, Ossoff asked, “Will Sen Perdue join me right now in calling for a passage of another round of $1,200 stimulus checks by the end of the week?”
Perdue has previously said he “personally opposed” the initial round of $1,200 stimulus checks for Georgians and “held his nose” to vote for the CARES Act. During the debate, Ossoff highlighted the urgency of Georgians turning out to vote to put an end to the partisan gridlock in Washington and rushing relief to Georgia workers and small businesses.
