Ossoff ad declares the cost of health care an emergency
Atlanta, GA — Today, Jon Ossoff for Senate released a new TV ad, titled “Emergency.” The ad highlights Sen. Ossoff’s work to ban insurance companies from denying or delaying needed health care.
Sen. Ossoff is known in the Senate and throughout Georgia for investigating abuse and corruption and standing up to powerful interests, from his investigation of defense contractors mistreating Georgia military families in privatized housing to his investigation of Georgia’s foster care system and legislation to fight child trafficking. Now he’s leaning into that record by touting his work standing up to powerful industries as he fights to lower health care costs and ensure Georgians get the health care they need.
The ad highlights Sen. Ossoff’s record fighting the drug companies to pass a law that capped the price of insulin for seniors on Medicare at $35 a month, and Sen. Ossoff’s ongoing work to ban insurance companies from delaying or denying needed care.
“Since arriving in the Senate, Sen. Ossoff has fought for Georgians’ health care, standing up to the drug companies and fighting to cap the cost of insulin and working to ban insurance companies from denying needed care,” said Campaign Manager Ellen Foster.
Meanwhile, Sen. Ossoff’s Republican opponent, Mike Collins, is a Trump loyalist and MAGA extremist who describes himself as 100% MAGA and has voted with Trump 100% of the time. Collins voted with Trump to allow Affordable Care Act tax credits to expire, doubling premiums for more than 1 million Georgians and causing more than 300,000 Georgians to lose their insurance.
The release of the ad comes as Collins faces scrutiny over new CNN reporting on Collins’ close ties to white nationalism and neo-Nazi propaganda. Mike Collins continues to face a slew of scandals involving his blatant bigotry, antisemitism, and corruption — including an active federal investigation into the illegal misuse of tax dollars, renewed scrutiny over Collins’ office’s ties to prominent white supremacists and efforts to free a Holocaust denier from jail, as well as outrage over his antisemitic harassment of a Jewish reporter and praise for a young man who harassed a Black woman by making monkey sounds.
The ad will run on broadcast television, streaming, and digital platforms as part of a seven-figure buy.
