Sen Ossoff: “They’ve destroyed Medicaid and defunded hospitals and added $4 trillion to the debt to cut taxes for the rich.”
Atlanta, Ga. — The Ossoff campaign released a new video after a rural hospital in Georgia said Trump’s budget law “solidified” their decision to shutter services.
The video comes on the heels of new reporting from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution detailing how the devastating Medicaid cuts in Trump’s unpopular budget law have caused damage to rural hospitals across Georgia.
In the past couple of weeks, St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia cited that Medicaid cuts “solidified” their decision to shutter their labor and delivery unit and Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton announced that they may have to cut their ICU facing a $3.3 million budget shortfall due to Trump’s budget law.
Recent reporting in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution also highlighted how Senator Jon Ossoff is holding his Republican opponents accountable for backing Trump’s unpopular budget law that’s causing these devastating cuts to Medicaid in Georgia.

“They’re destroying the Medicaid program when 40% of all kids in Georgia are covered by Medicaid. 50% of all births in Georgia are covered by Medicaid. 70% of all seniors in nursing homes in Georgia are covered by Medicaid,” said Sen. Ossoff.
