Ossoff Calls on Sen. Perdue to Override Trump’s Veto of NDAA, Stand Up for Georgia’s Military Communities

In 2015 Perdue tweeted: “Tell @POTUS to stop playing politics with #NDAA & support our troops. RT if you agree.”

Atlanta, Ga. — Today, President Donald Trump vetoed the annual National Defense Authorization Act, which funds the U.S. Department of Defense, includes hundreds of millions of dollars for projects in Georgia, and includes a three percent pay increase for U.S. troops.

In response, investigative journalist and Democratic U.S. Senate nominee in Georgia Jon Ossoff called on his opponent, Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.) to heed his own words from 2015, stop playing politics, and vote to override Trump’s veto:

“Senator Perdue needs to immediately condemn President Trump’s reckless veto of the NDAA, which will delay hundreds of millions of dollars for our military. Senator Perdue cannot enable Trump as he plays politics with the safety and security of our servicemembers and their families. Senator Perdue needs to show he has a spine and stand up to this president by voting to override his irresponsible veto and in the best interest of Georgia’s military communities.”
