Ossoff’s new TV ad focuses on anti-corruption message

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Jon Ossoff won the Democratic nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. David Perdue insisting that he’d relentlessly combat corruption in Washington. His first TV ad for the November election campaign continues that message.

The 30-second spot released Thursday focuses on his background as the owner of a firm that’s produced dozens of investigative journalism documentaries – and links that work to challenges confronting the U.S. Senate in Congress.

“We’ve exposed sexual slavery by ISIS, crooked judges, child trafficking and bribery,” said Ossoff. “Truth is, corruption is why politicians let health insurance companies rip off our families and polluters poison our air and water.”

He closes: “Fighting corruption is my job and it’s what I’ll do as your senator. It’s why I refuse donations from corporate PACs and why I approve this message.”

The ads make no mention of Perdue, a former Fortune 500 chief executive, or President Donald Trump. Rather, it serves as another introduction for Ossoff, who already has high name recognition in metro Atlanta from his failed 2017 run for a suburban U.S. House seat.

The ads were released a day after Perdue launched a pair of direct-to-camera TV messages in his bid to keep his seat. Those spots also steered clear of mention of Trump – but included a direct attack on Ossoff.
