Retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major Sarita Dyer: “On the campaign trail, Mike Collins has said, ‘Trump is doing a fantastic job on the war in Iran,’ as his administration lies to Americans on the objectives of the war. […] As my representative in Congress, Mike Collins is supposed to vote in the best interests of the Georgians living in his district. He has failed his constituents.”
Atlanta, Ga. — Today, a group of Georgia veterans gathered outside of the Senator Johnny Isakson VA Atlanta Regional Office to call out GOP U.S. Senate nominee Mike Collins’ continued support of the Trump Administration lying the nation into war.
Mike Collins has repeatedly rubber-stamped Trump’s reckless war in Iran, which is driving up costs for families and putting American lives at risk. On the campaign trail, Collins has said that Trump is doing a “fantastic job” on the war in Iran as his administration lies to Americans on the objectives of the war.
Throughout his U.S. Senate bid, Collins has faced scandal after scandal, including his disturbing “close ties” to white nationalism and his office working with notorious white nationalists – such as Nick Fuentes and Richard Spencer – to try to get a Holocaust denier out of jail. Collins is currently under federal investigation by the House Ethics Committee for his misuse of taxpayer dollars and is facing public outrage over his antisemitic harassment of a Jewish reporter and praise for the viciously racist harassment with monkey sounds of a Black woman on a college campus.

“Congressman Mike Collins is asking Georgians for a promotion to the United States Senate, and he fully supports and has upheld and enabled Donald Trump and his reckless war in Iran. 18 brave Americans have been killed in action due to this president’s actions and lies. Mike Collins continues to push his lies. This is unacceptable, and Georgia veterans won’t stand for it,” said Former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Ed Anderson. “So let’s review what Mike Collins said about the war in Iran. He said, and I quote: ‘he’s doing a great job with the Iran war. Fantastic job.’”
“As my representative in Congress, Mike Collins is supposed to vote in the best interests of the Georgians living in his district. He has failed his constituents. As soldiers, we never expect luxury. During my five operational deployments, we endured hardships, but we expected and deserved competent leaders who sent us into combat only when necessary with a decisive clarity of purpose, not fools who lie about the purpose and progress of war,” said Retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major Sarita Dyer. “That leader is not Mike Collins and he could never be allowed a six-year term in Congress, as a U.S, Senator — a man who’s selfishly voted for war to win political points with an out-of-control president.”
“Aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, brave American sailors have now been at sea without a port call, which is a Navy record. Having been deployed, I know there are emotions that the sons and daughters of our nation are going through,” said Former U.S. Navy Lieutenant Chelsey Curney. “America deserves better than a reckless president intent on lying his way into a war, and Georgians deserve better. Better than a pro-war, Trump puppet like Mike Collins. […] As Mike Collins visits an Acworth VFW for a photo op today, we must reject his blind support of this war by rejecting him.”
