WATCH: In Duluth, Ossoff Challenges Mike Collins to Demand An End to the Iran War Causing Prices to Skyrocket

Sen Ossoff: “Today I am challenging Mike Collins to see if, just for once in his life, he can do the right thing and stand up to Donald Trump. I am challenging Mike Collins to join me in demanding an end to this war.”

Ossoff has repeatedly asserted that Trump lied our nation into war

Duluth, Ga. — Today in Duluth, Senator Jon Ossoff challenged GOP U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins to stand up to Donald Trump and demand an end to the war in Iran, which is causing prices to skyrocket across Georgia.

As Georgians foot the bill for Trump’s war by paying some of the highest diesel prices on record, Mike Collins continues to rubber-stamp and stand by the reckless war, which has put American lives in harm’s way.

Georgians have paid an additional $1.4 billion for gas as a result of the war in Iran, with each household spending roughly $352 more on gas than they otherwise would have. Collins has voted seven times to fund the endless war and even said that Trump is doing a “fantastic job” on the war in Iran despite the administration lying to the American people about its objectives.

As part of today’s event, Sen. Ossoff also met with volunteers before sending them off to knock doors in support of his campaign, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Democrats up and down the ballot. The Democratic Party of Georgia has been building huge organizational strength under Senator Ossoff’s leadership. To date, Senator Ossoff has transferred $3.6 million to the DPG’s Coordinated Campaign and is continuing to invest heavily in races up and down the ballot.

“Mike Collins has been Donald Trump’s most loyal puppet. The bigot congressman, Mike Collins, who is surrounded at work and at home by white nationalists and neo-Nazi ideology. Mike Collins, who voted seven times for the war in Iran, who voted for all of Donald Trump’s tariffs that sent grocery prices soaring. Mike Collins, who voted for those Medicaid cuts, who voted to double your health insurance premiums. Now Mike Collins wants a promotion and a six-year term in the U.S. Senate,” said Sen. Ossoff.  “Let me be very clear about this, that today I am challenging Mike Collins to see if, just for once in his life, he can do the right thing and stand up to Donald Trump. I am challenging Mike Collins to join me in demanding an end to this war.”
