WATCH: Ossoff & Rev. Warnock Appear Together on MSNBC to Highlight the Stakes of Georgia’s Two U.S. Senate Races

Atlanta, Ga. — This morning, investigative journalist and Democratic U.S Senate nominee Jon Ossoff and Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church Rev. Raphael Warnock appeared together on MSNBC with Tiffany Cross to discuss the historic nature of Georgia’s dual U.S. Senate races.

Ossoff is challenging Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), while Rev. Warnock is a candidate for the special U.S. Senate election in Georgia challenging Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.).

Ossoff and Warnock touched on the historic turnout so far in Georgia, with early in-person voting numbers shattering records.

The duo also discussed continued fallout from Ossoff’s opponent, Senator David Perdue (R-Ga), “intentionally mock[ing]” Senator and Democratic VP nominee Kamala Harris’ name at a Trump rally Friday night in Macon, Ga.

Warnock said Perdue is “playing from an old playbook of stirring up old demons of hatred, and bigotry, and fear.”

Ossoff, who has called on Perdue to apologize to Georgia’s Indian American and Black communities, equated Perdue’s comments to a continuation of GOP efforts to divide Georgians among racial lines, but then said, “the people of Georgia are rejecting this kind of fear and division, recognizing we need leaders who are competent and honest during a pandemic, recognizing we need leaders who put our health ahead of insurance industry profits, who put direct relief for ordinary people and small businesses ahead of corporate donors in Washington. That’s why Rev. Warnock and I have unstoppable momentum.”

Cross noted that recent polling found both Ossoff and Warnock with leads in their respective races.

A Quinnipiac poll last week found Ossoff leading Perdue 51-45 percent, while Warnock led the field in his race with 41 percent, followed by Congressman Doug Collins at 22 percent and appointed-Senator Kelly Loeffler at 20 percent.
